Do you know how to use your GMT function properly? We got you!
Have you acquired your inaugural GMT timepiece and now pondering the proper method to configure it? Here's the good news - it's not as intricate as you might think!
On our GMT models, you can set up to three different time zones, a feature shared by most GMT watch models. The bezel incorporates a total of 24 markers corresponding to 24-hour time with the prime meridian in Greenwich, London.
Ensure the bezel is in its default position by aligning its 24H marker with 12H on the dial. Adjust the watch to your current local time by pulling the crown to the second position. Then, pull the crown to the first position and rotate clockwise to set the GMT hand to home time (the departure location), matching it with the 24-hour bezel. For instance, if your current time is 11:00 AM, simply turn the GMT hand to align with 11 on the bezel.
Now, if you find yourself in a timezone one hour ahead and wish to adjust your watch accordingly, pull out the crown to the second position and set the time one hour ahead using the hour and minute hands. You will then have your current time (displayed by the hour and minute hands) as well as the time at your departure location (indicated by the GMT hand).
Configuring a third timezone
To configure a third timezone, rotate the bezel. Determine the number of hours your desired timezone is ahead or behind your home time (indicated by the GMT hand). If your target timezone is six hours ahead, rotate the bezel six clicks (equivalent to six hours). Now, using the set GMT hand, you can see the third timezone displayed on the bezel. Voilà! You've now mastered the GMT complication.
